Life has a way of pushing us further from our ideal of who we want to be as we pursue experiences and relationships we believe will make us whole. Though subtle, the relationship we hold with ourselves, particularly our emotions, is oftentimes the key to finding true happiness and success in life. As a therapist, Lauren seeks to enable individuals to experience life from a more empowered stance, one that often feels difficult to find when buried in traumatic experiences or difficult life circumstances, all of which shape our interactions with reality.
Lauren is a highly personable therapist with a strong approach rooted in individualized, holistic support and connection. She has worked extensively with success with adults struggling with eating disorders, developmental trauma and traumatic stress, PTSD, anxiety, depression and other mood disorders in both intensive treatment and outpatient settings. In effort to better serve clients, she has pursued training in modalities including Somatic Experiencing, embodied recovery and drama therapy, and utilizes an eclectic and person-centered approach including play and drama therapy, psychoeducation, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Somatic Experiencing. Lauren received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Missouri State University and later graduated with her two Master’s degrees in Behavioral Neuroscience and Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Missouri, St. Louis. Lauren has often been described by clients as warm, energized, and direct. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys going on hikes with her dog, traveling, kicking a soccer ball, writing, and enjoying a (large) cup of coffee. |
