I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). I received my Masters in Social Work in 2012 from the University of Missouri- Columbia. I specialize in therapy with adults, children, adolescents, and couples. I assist adults and couples in focusing on anxiety, communication skills, coping skills, depression, grief, relationship concerns, work stress, and women's issues. I am dedicated to helping clients recognize and accomplish their goals by utilizing a strengths-based approach and utilizing techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
I began my career as a Social Worker in nursing homes which provides a unique skill set. I helped many individuals cope with loss of independence, changing family dynamics, and grief of lost loved ones. Additionally, I have aided adult children and spouses in processing their worries regarding their ill family members and newfound caregiver roles. I have facilitated groups for the Alzheimer's Association and organized educational seminars for family members on a variety of topics, including Dementia disease process and coping with grief. I strive to guide individuals in truly understanding life changes and building stronger relationships with their loved ones. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which focuses on changing automatic negative thoughts and uses a goal-oriented approach. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, three children, and two dogs. I enjoy reading, gardening, and doing puzzles. I also like to go to the ballet and musicals with my daughter. I spend time volunteering and organizing social events for my subdivision. |
