COUPLES THERAPY SPECIFIC TRAINING
|
Hello and thank you for your interest and clicking on my link. My name is Joe Daus and I am a licensed psychologist in the state of Missouri with over 25 years of service in the field of mental health.
Our lives can be likened to that of a river with various currents of thoughts, feelings, choices, situations, and concerns. Sometimes these waters can be calm, predictable, or promising, at other times, threatening, disheartening, or overwhelming. I want to provide you with a confidential and comfortable space where you can navigate these waters without the concerns of judgement or blowback from others. Our collaborative work together will be to clarify what you are wrestling with, identify what would be of assistance and then implement an agreed upon solution, change or acceptance that would be good or helpful to you. Through my years of training and employment I have acquired a significant amount of knowledge about mental health and treatment; however, you will always be the foremost expert on you. A lifelong St. Louisan, I received my bachelor's, master's, and doctorate degrees in Psychology and Counseling from the University of Missouri-Columbia. I worked previously at the St. Louis City's family court and juvenile detention center, and I am also quite familiar with issues pertaining to former service men and women and their families via 20 years of employment within veterans' healthcare. I am comfortable working with adults and adolescents and from either an in-person or telehealth/video format. While protocols or interventions are not as important to me as establishing a solid working alliance with people, I am quite experienced with Person Centered, Cognitive Behavioral, and Interpersonal approaches to mood and adjustment difficulties as well as Cognitive Processing interventions for trauma. My wife and I are empty nesters with two wonderful daughters. I enjoy movies, tv and falling down YouTube rabbit holes as well as the local pro and Mizzou sports teams (enjoyment can vary). Thank you again for your interest. |
