Emily is a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a Certified School Counselor (K-12). She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Missouri - St. Louis. She received her Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling and School Counseling from Missouri Baptist University.

She is well versed in emotional regulation, trauma-informed practices, anxiety, depression, LGBTQIA+ issues, and grief. As a white person, she is constantly continuously reflecting and working to make sure ensure that she is doing her part to be culturally informed and anti-racist.

Emily’s unique lens of working in a variety of settings has guided her to understanding that helping child/adolescents/teens/young adults is a full comprehensive systematic approach for healing, and is often directly tied to building relationships with her clients. Emily has provided therapy in rural, suburban, and urban environments in both schools and office settings. Emily has facilitated therapy for individuals and groups; and has assisted in behavioral assessments for children and teens. One of Emily’s passions is  empowering parents by educating them on how to best advocate for appropriate support for their children; this includes working closely with schools.

She always incorporates many various creative avenues in order to tap into clients’ interests and help build relationships with them. Therapeutic interventions used most are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Informed Practices and Solution Focused Therapy. Currently Emily is working on certification for Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

In her free time, Emily enjoys spending time reading while sipping on unsweet iced tea, crafting, cooking, being a life-long learner, going on family walks, watching Blues hockey, traveling, and spending time with loved ones, especially time spent with her husband, daughter, and dog.
