I am Christoffer Lowenhielm (LPC), a graduate from Lindenwood University where I received my Master's in Professional Counseling in 2021. I was an international student-athlete, playing and coaching ice hockey at Lindenwood University. I am from Stockholm, Sweden and have lived in the United States for eight years.
My internship experience included leading individual and group therapy sessions, along with grief, depression, anxiety, and trauma individual counseling sessions. My path to counseling began very young through my personal experience with the loss of life, which led me on the path to helping others. I understand that missing our loved ones and being depressed is a normal process, however, the key to grieving is to find a way to form a new relationship with the one we lost. In addition, I have experience as a collegiate ice hockey player and understand the delicate balance of being a student-athlete, including the pressures and responsibilities that come along with it. I can provide services to assist teenagers and young adults maintain the balance between academics and sports performance, including public speaking, presentation, and test anxiety. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife, working on home projects, and mentoring youth athletes. |
