Stacy has worked in special education for 21 years. As a School Psychological Examiner, she enjoys doing educational evaluations with children, helping families to understand the special education, and planning for students’ educational needs. Stacy earned both a Master’s degree in Education and Psychological Examiner Certification from Lindenwood University. Her interest in psychology and counseling drove her to pursue a second Master’s degree in Professional Counseling at Lindenwood.
Stacy completed a counseling internship at Alternatives to Living in Violent Environments (ALIVE), where she worked with women who have experienced domestic violence. She had the opportunity to co-facilitate a women’s support group, and also provided individual counseling to women from a variety of backgrounds. Stacy is passionate about empowering women to love themselves and strive for healthy relationships. She continues to volunteer with ALIVE and is currently co-facilitating a teen group addressing healthy relationships. Stacy’s approach to counseling is eclectic, person-centered, genuine, and empathetic. She has experience with Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness, Attachment Theory, and psycho-educational evaluations, including intelligence testing and behavior evaluations. Stacy believes that every person has an innate desire to become the best version of themselves and that no one person’s journey is the same. She feels privileged to be able to do the intimate work of helping others. Stacy loves spending time with her fiancé and teenaged sons. She adores the outdoors and everything to do with our natural world. She likes to hike in the mountains and enjoys reading all genres. Stacy describes herself as an amateur writer, and secretly hopes to be published one day. |
