It can often feel as though our emotions or behaviors control us more than we control them. However, by finding effective ways to manage painful feelings, we can build upon our skills and learn to cope with life’s inevitable challenges. I aim to illuminate your own strengths so you can use them to gain control and satisfaction within your life. In our sessions we will work together to create goals, develop coping strategies, and tackle current issues.
As a clinician, I prioritize building a trusting and comfortable therapeutic relationship with my clients. I primarily work with young people and families experiencing difficulty controlling or managing emotions and navigating interpersonal struggles. I frequently use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)-informed techniques emphasizing balance, validation, and effective communication strategies. I completed my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Truman State University where I found my passion for working with children, adolescents, young adults, and family systems. I later earned my Master of Science in Clinical Child and School Psychology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. During this time, I gained valuable experience conducting assessments for ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder, as well as providing individual and group therapy to clients and families facing a wide range of concerns. Outside of work, I love playing video games, hiking, doing puzzles, and spending time with family. |
