I am a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC), and obtained my Masters in
Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis. I also have my Masters in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise & Sport Psychology from Southern Illinois University- Edwardsville. I wanted to become a therapist because I am passionate about helping individuals heal, explore, and live life in their most authentic way. Therapy is a place where you come as you are, and we collaborate as a team to achieve the goals that are set. I strive to create a warm, inviting, and safe space where you can be heard and supported through whatever life has thrown your way. My therapeutic approach is rooted in empowerment and connection. I work with adolescents and adults that may face challenges including anxiety, depression, sport performance, life transitions, self-esteem, identity issues, stress, and interpersonal concerns. You are the author of your own stories, so I like to work from a Person-Centered Therapy approach and a Narrative Therapy approach as well as incorporating aspects from Somatic Experiencing. I also understand and believe that everyone is different and has different needs and wants, so I also pull from other approaches when needed, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. When I am not in the therapy room, you can usually find me re-watching my favorite television shows, reading, or listening to my favorite playlists. I am a huge sports fan and love watching our baseball team and XFL team. |
